From the article: La Leche League International (LLLI)
For many of us, we needed help to breastfeed our babies. That help can come in many forms and many people get help from La Leche League International (LLLI). Have you ever been to a La Leche meeting? Called a leader? Been to their online forums? Read the book? Share Your Experience
They are great with common problems
- I have severe low milk supply and no one has been able to help me with that. So I went to the LLL meetings just for support. The support was great and I saw many women with more common issues helped greatly. So if you need help or support I recommend you give them a chance.

They took the place of my own mother
- I attended LLL meetings when I was pregnant with my first baby, and continued my involvement for the next 14 years, ten of which I was an active Leader. LLL taught me how to be a mother when my own mother could not be there for me. They were my family. We were a tribe, and through the League I grew into a confident mother. It was about so much more than the breastfeeding. It was about love.
