Nursing

I've always heard that if you breastfeed a baby when you are pregnant it gets diarrhea. (FALSE) So many mothers, the moment they discover they are pregnant, they stop breastfeeding even if the baby is still very young.

Carrying high or low

If you carry high it's a girl, low it's a boy. This myth is debunked by my cousin, who had a different looking bump with all 3 pregnancies, but had all girls!

girl or boy?

I had three girls in my husbands family do the needle and ring test on me and it said I was having twins. One boy and one girl. It told my mother in law when she was pregnant that she will have twins and they will both be girls. My mother in law said, "Noooo I don't believe in this so this is not true." She went to have her sonogram done and sure enough she was having twins and both were girls. They all did the same thing to me and all did it more than three times and the results was the same on them all. They did it on my husband and the results was the same on him as well... put a needle on a string and rub it on the side of your hand by your pinky. Do it for around a minute... then flip your hand over and hold the needle above your palm. If it goes back and forth either way its a boy. If it goes in circles its a girl!! The same with your wedding rings. Lay down and hold them above your belly button... if its a boy it will go back and forth either way... if its a girl it will go in circle.

Boy or girl?

I heard if your left breast is bigger than your right breast it is a girl and if the right is bigger it is a boy.

Heartburn!

I got heartburn with my first who is a girl and she was born with hair, so far no heartburn with this one but who knows...

heartburn

My grandmother told me that if I had a lot of heart burn that my baby would have a lot of hair, I had to sleep sitting up from 5 months on with my daughter because of the heart burn and funny thing is my daughter was born bald. And was bald til she was almost a year. So I am guessing my next one is going to be bald as well.

Boy or a girl?

I have heard that if you look more beautiful then its a girl, but if you also gained weight all over then its a girl.

gender predictor

My mother said that what ever gender your mother-in-law or the father of your child's mother had first is what you will have, I was the first for my mother, my brother's first child was a girl. My grandmother's first was a girl, and my father's first was a girl, so on...

Too much water?

My mother in law told me that if I drink too much water the baby will drown but so far my baby is normal despite drinking a couple of liters of water a day.

Pink or Blue

A coworker of mine once told me that she heard that mothers of girls often wear more pink and mothers of boys more blue before the gender is known to them.

Sunburn causes mental issues

When my mother was pregnant with me she got a sunburn and lots of elderly women told her that since she was burned I was gonna be born with mental issues. As far as I know I'm okay...

Sickness? Fruit? Wrong!

I don't believe that when you have a girl you aren't sick. When I had my daughter I was sick for about 7 months, and with my son, I wasn't sick at all! And about the whole fruit its a girl thing? Wrong again, I craved meaty tacos and etc. with my daughter, and melon with my son.

Should I exercise while pregnant?

I heard someone say that you shouldn't stretch while pregnant because when you put your arms up in the air, that causes the umbilicial cord to wrap around your baby's neck. I thought it was the dumbest thing I had ever heard.

A girl or a boy?

I have heard and noticed myself that if the previous baby was born with a hairy line or longer hair running right in the middle of the neck ..then the next baby due will be a girl, otherwise its a boy. Its been true for our mother, and me. Although my first Baby did not have a lot of hair but had a thick hairy tail running in the middle of her neck, thus my second baby is a girl too, she has a full head of hair but does not have thick hairy line... I am expecting my third baby...let's see....how true is it?
