Preparing to breastfeed is something that you should do while you are pregnant when possible. But what does that mean? Should you take a class? Read a book? See a lactation consultant? What advice do you have for preparing to breastfeed that you can do while pregnant? Share Your Advice

Get the gear you need

It helps to have what you need on hand. Of course, all you really need are the boobs ;-) but to make it comfortable and easy, you might want to get a good pillow (Boppy), several really comfortable nursing bras, pads (washable or disposable), lanolin for the first few days and all the supplies you need for pumping.

Attend a Meeting

I went to local breastfeeding support meetings - like La Leche League, but it was called something else here. I got to see other moms breastfeed and learned where to go for help before I needed it!
