From the article: Leap Day Baby
About every four years you have the ability to try to have a Leap Day Baby, a baby born on February 29th. Would you want a baby born on Leap Day? Or does Leap Year creep you out? When would you celebrate in following years? March 1st or February 28th? Have you had a Leap Day Baby? Share Your Thoughts

Leap Year Son

My son was born on leap day in 1988 and enjoys it. he turned 6 this year. all his birth records and driver license all have Feb. 29. He has no problem with it at all. All his friends think it is so cool that he only gets a real birthday every 4 yrs. we celebrate it on Feb. 28th in the other 3 yrs.

I am a Leap Year 'baby' - it's a royal pain. If being treated as an odd ball and weird all of one's life is your goal, then rejoice in it. If you have the option of having a child on or near Feb 29th, choose Feb 28 or March 1. Your child will thank you for it when they are grown.

The Wanders Of A Leap Year

Leap Day Baby! This will remain a ponder to the eyes of many to see that babies born on the 29 of February will have every four years to celebrate their birthdays. If they wish to celebrate it every year, should they take the 28 they will be guilty of reducing their ages before those who know their date of birth,of reducing their ages. Should they take the 1 of march they won't be happy of looking older than they are. Can history be therefore made that February should have 29 days? Since those born on the 28 never have a problem in celebrating their birthdays, and the world's calender can not be made to have four years in one

I have a Leap Year Baby!!!

My son was born on this day. I've never met anyone else born on this day. Today he was so excited that he was actually turning two. He is eight years old and I'm so proud that he understands his very special day. I am proud to be his mother and say my son is a leap year baby!!!!

I wouldn't like it!

Being a Christmas Eve baby is bad enough...can't imagine being a Leap Day baby, think of all the folks that would forget your birthday!

My daughter, Peggy, was born on February 29th, 1976 in Santa Monica, California. 4 years prior I proposed to my husband, Ron. I was 29 and he was 30. the morning of Feb.29, 1976 I was getting ready for Church and realized that today was our first real anniversary of me asking him to marry me---and alas I had forgotten to get him a gift. Just as that thought crossed my mind, my water broke and I delivered Peggy about 6 hours later---What a wonderful gift!!!!!!!!!!!

Due on Feb. 29th

Babies come when they are ready and it's rarely on their exact "due date". I due on Leap Year Fay and think it would be a fun foot note! I wouldn't try to alter her birthdate!

I AM a Leap Day baby!

It is probably THE most important day on the calendar! It's the day that keeps our years in line with the seasons so that Christmas doesn't end up in the summertime! (For us in the Northern Hemisphere). Leap Day has been happening for over 2000 years! Yep, it's true. And at one time it was recognized for what it is. For some reason after WWI and WWII it never got the recognition it once had. Plus, New Year's Day is in the dictionary capitalized. Leap Day is listed as leap year and leap day. No respect!! The calendar publishers don't put the words LEAP DAY on February 29th. It's THE DAY that celebrates the calendars perfection and they miss it every Leap Year. So, we have taken it upon ourselves to educate the world at leapyearday.com and it's also where you'll find The Honor Society of Leap Year Day Babies, an online internet birthday club 10,000 strong! Read what other Leapies wrote, read the poems, read about Leap Year Day. It's not just our birthday, it’s your extra day too!

Due on Leap Day

My doctor didn't even calculate it. But when I switched the to midwife she told me that it was actually that day. While I am not holding out hope since so few babies are born on their due dates, it would be kind of cool. I think we'd celebrate in February in subsequent years.
