Who I told
My parents and grandparents.
What I Did:
We created Christmas cards that said "Your Christmas present has been ordered!" on the front, and then on the inside it said: "There's a mandatory 9 month waiting period, expect a special delivery in June"
How people reacted
My mom yelled "I KNEW IT" before most people had even finished reading the card. My granddad who had been saying "No babies yet?" every time he saw me... he just grinned and cried, he was so happy!
Everybody thought it was a really cute way of announcing it.
Advice
- just have fun with it!
- if you're going to pull off telling everyone at once, it has to be planned very carefully -- even with only 3 groups of people in the room some were done reading the card before others had even gotten it out of the envelope and there's really no good way to say "All Together Now!" without somebody catching on that there's something big going on.
