The book is not preachy at all and really seeks to help you understand how they perceive the birth climate and what you can do to have the birth that you want. It is written in the tone of your friends giving you the real scoop on labor and birth.

2. Our Bodies, Ourselves: Pregnancy & Birth

My personal favorite in breastfeeding books. This is an easy to read book that is well divided into sections that you use as you need them, this makes for ease of use when holding a fussy baby in one hand and the book in the other. (Note covers may look different as there is a new edition out.)
