Guide Review - Avent Breast Pump

The Avent Isis Breast Pump is a very handy breast pump. The soft inner lining of the breast shield uses a flower design to help massage the breast tissue, which means you are able to express more breast milk. The problem with the breast shields is that even without the removable soft liner, the shield will not accommodate larger nipples (27 and 30 mm).

Unlike other manual or hand breast pumps the Avent is very easy to depress. You do not have to pull back up on the handle to start the cycle again. This is a big bonus.

The breast pump comes apart easily and easily goes back together. This makes cleaning a breeze. The older Avent Breast pumps actually had a different body design with more parts. The newer model is much easier to use, partially because it doesn't come apart when you're pumping.

The Avent Breast Pump pumps directly into baby bottles made by Avent or their breast milk storage system, VIA. You can also buy an adaptor for converting other baby bottles into the Avent wide mouth size. It's generally easier to just use their products for the collection of breast milk.
