Many years ago when I was having a baby, I was eager for advice. One thing I heard over and over again when I asked people what I needed to buy when I was having a baby was a cordless phone. (Does that date me?) Any way, lately the blogs have been all about the new technology out there for parents and the new convenience items. Here are few I enjoyed reading about.
Now your kitchen or bathroom can be changed into that really cool faucet you've seen at the airport. The kind you stare at from across the room, determined to not let it be boss as you beg it to release water. This one attaches to your own faucet so you don't need to be a plumber to install it. A benefit in my house would be the decrease in the germ factor from everyone touching the same handle.
One blogger was saying how her kids loved this and even threw stuff away, while visiting a friends house, just to see the trash can in action. So she bought one for herself. I'm interested to see if her kids continue to throw things away and if they love to throw away important papers, small pets and favored toys. Seriously, this could be beneficial, but how quickly can the can open? And the test says 20 times a day extends the battery life - they obviously don't know how many times my family goes to the trash can in a day.
I actually have a previous generation of this model shredder and really like it. It's got a safety sense area on the top that if any little fingers get near it the motor automatically shuts off. I still unplug it and worry that one day someone is going to shred something really valuable - like a first crayon drawing of my youngest child, but you can't live without a shredder these days.
