Thirty Two Weeks

My braces come off in about 60 hours. I have to say that right now that is a much more exciting prospect than the baby!

I feel like my belly has exploded this week. Tonight Hilary said, "Wow you're growing a big belly...I mean baby." I reminded the kids that it wouldn't be much longer before the baby came. Hilary told us that she was embarrassed because someone at school told her she'd have to change diapers! Now that would be a dream come true!

Thirty Two Weeks, Two Days

Finally went car seat shopping. It was really handy because the orthodontist's office where I had my appointment (not the usual place) was across from the baby big store. The selection was surprisingly limited so we came home with a changing pad and socks. Then we walked around the mall with my hip killing me.

It was finally time to go get my braces off! I bleed a bit with the swollen gums, partially from pregnancy, and it was slightly painful. But I am free! Now I have to remember how to smile...

We came home to a note saying that we were getting our birth kit for free for some advice I'd given the ladies who own the store. That will be a great gift! So now we have to order it. We also argued about names last night. I feel like I make all the suggestions and he just vetoes. Anyone else have a DH like that?

Thirty Two Weeks, Six Days

I fluctuate between being tired of being pregnant and remembering to savor it. The baby is moving so much and sometimes it's a pure joy to feel and watch and other times I wonder if it's looking for another way out! Kevin even felt a kick on his back as we slept the other night.

My mother was asking about names and birth plans, and we realized we didn't have a lot to tell her. We're going to a class at the local hospital that will serve as our back up, should we need it. The kids will also go to a sibling class. I pray I can maintain my temper during the class with much of the misinformation that we experienced in the last class.

We also started another series of childbirth class after only making it to 4 of the 9 classes in the last one. It's still invigorating and inspiring. Kevin feels like he has to be the "macho" man and do the best back run and have the most relaxed wife...I just play into it and enjoy.

By the way, it's September. October is next! And yes, we did learn out lessons, no buying Halloween costumes for babies due 10 days before Halloween!
