Twenty One Weeks

We told my grandma. I actually waited until after surgery when she was drugged on morphine and complaining that I looked tired to tell her. Talk about getting them when they're down! She really could have cared less and made no comments either way about the baby.

Now only Kevin's parents remain...

Twenty One Weeks, One Day

The baby and Kevin had their first play match today. The baby would kick his hand and he would push back. It's a very cute ritual if you haven't tried it yourself, I highly recommend it. The baby kept this up until Kevin actually got tired about 15 minutes later. He also started talking to the baby.

We sat down with a baby name book last night with my sister and her husband. It was a lot of fun, and the first time Kevin actually seemed to get into thinking of a name for the baby.

I've really started seeing this baby as a girl, so I spent more time on the girls names and day dreaming about another daughter and how much fun it could be to have a baby in the house.

Twenty One Weeks, Three Days

Happy birthday to me! I'm getting a new lighting fixture and a microwave. And to top the day off I get to visit the dentist! The pregnancy part is the best part, I can eat cake and not feel guilty. The kids are still sleeping but Benjamin feel asleep over a cute card he's making with a big mommy tummy and a birthday cake. Hilary gave me lots of hugs and promised to make me something at camp today, and Isaac slept in!

I was up every 30 minutes in the bathroom last night, but the tub is still great and my back has been hurting less, probably a combination of the tub and getting a desk finally. Kevin gave me a nice massage last night. So overall I'm in a great mood today! And I'm happy to be a mommy!

Twenty One Weeks, Five Days

I want to puke! Actually I don't want to, I'm sick of feeling like this!

Okay, I feel better now after a little yelling.

We met with our back-up physician yesterday and all is well. She didn't do much but listen to the baby and measure my uterus. She asked if I wanted any lab work ordered, I couldn't think of any I needed and neither could she. She wants to see again in the third trimester and then that is it! I really like her and it's always enjoyable seeing her. Kevin told her he wasn't sure what kept causing this (pregnancy) and maybe she could explain it to us. That got a good chuckle out of everyone and the doc said he'd have to come back for a separate session.

We also had a prenatal with our midwife. Like I've said before Juliet is a dear friend, so she stayed for like 4 hours! It was great our kids played with her daughter, we made dinner and ate, and in between did all that prenatal stuff. The baby wasn't being very cooperative and she had a hard time getting it's heart rate because it kept moving around. She'd get four beats, then nothing, then find it again to get seven beats. It was kicking her and the fetoscope the whole time. Fairly funny, if you ask me.

I've got to get on an airplane this weekend and it's still so very scary for me. I know I'll live but it's just a phobia I'm developing. Too bad I have to do it quite a bit.

Well off to eat breakfast and pray it stays down!
