Thirty-Four Weeks

I'm tired of working already. As much as I say that, they ladies I work with are great! They bring me water and ice, anything I need or want. They've been so helpful. It's just getting harder and harder to get up in the mornings. I'd rather spend all of my leave with the babies rather than sitting at home for the next few weeks staring at the walls.

Thirty-Four Weeks, Two Days

We cleaned our room up. We even moved the co-sleeper to make room for me. We'll move it back once the babies are born. We also brought out the baby clothes and did a ton of baby laundry! We even bagged up everything we need for the birth. It was a hectic, but productive day!

Thirty-Four Weeks, Three Days

There were some really nasty storms last night. We all had to go to the basement for tornado warnings. It wound up being a lot of fun. We took a game and the bag of Halloween candy down with the radio and flashlights. We sat around on the floor with blankets and pillows playing Kerplunk. Even Lilah waited her turn during the game and only pulled out one stick at a time!

The low pressure from the storm made me have contractions for like 4 hours! They hurt. Kevin was nice about rubbing my back, giving me water, helping me in the bath etc.

Lilah also likes to play peek-a-boo with the babies. She covers up my belly button and then removes her hands and says "Peek-a-boo!" She thinks the babies are coming out of the only opening she can see, I suppose...

We had our birth planning party tonight. It was so neat to have all of these people gathered to talk about how we'll handle the birth and postpartum period. I know a great group of women and I'm getting excited now! Everyone has so much knowledge and varied skills. It's neat. It was rather funny to find out how many of my friends actually knew how to start IVs!

Thirty-Four Weeks, Five Days

Today I visited the perinatologist. They had a 3D machine there and I was able to see some really neat shots. The babies look good and measure very similarly. There is plenty of amniotic fluid. Baby Owl (A) is still vertex and Baby Nose (B) is still breech. We're on track for a nice vaginal delivery!

Isaac wanted to rub lotion on my belly last night. He's always watching me do it. I lifted up my shirt and handed him some lotion, he looked at my belly and his eyes got huge, "Mom! You've got spiders all over your belly!" Talk about making me laugh and shake like a bowl full of jelly!
