Thirty-Two Weeks

My visit with the perinatologist was today. It was so not what I expected. I really thought Kevin and I would have time to sit down and talk to him. He listened briefly to the babies. He asked about my anemia and vitamin intake. Signed the birth plan without looking (I knew I should have asked for more!), and basically got out as fast as he could. I think we were there maybe 5 minutes.

I started taking my big vitamins last night as well as my liquid ones. They are pretty hard to choke down, but hey, I need it.

Thirty-Two Weeks, One Day

We took the whole family to the opening of the new Baby store near us. We bought diapers and Boppys, even some little side snap shirts that are so nice those first few days before the cords fall off. It was so crowded and you wouldn't believe the looks we get from people as we walk around with four kids and a huge belly. And the funny thing is, they don't even know I'm having twins!

I also sat for a lengthy exam today. Hopefully my pregnancy brains didn't kill my chances of passing...

Thirty-Two Weeks, Two Days

It was a long day! Kevin and Hilary went to a chess tournament, so Isaac, Lilah and Benjamin and I were home. We went to the grocery and then to the toy store to find a present for Lilah's birthday. Then we came home, all before 10 a.m. and I was exhausted! I called my sister to see if her daughter would like to spend the day with us. I was selfishly thinking Jenna would entertain Benjamin leaving the two little ones to me. It mostly worked that way. They even brought lunch - who can beat that deal?

I talked Isaac and Lilah into laying in my bed and reading with me. Soon we were all fast asleep. That lasted about 15 minutes. So we took a bath. I sat on the floor and watched them splash. I'm too huge to do much else at this point. They had a blast.

Hilary's team won 2nd place, though they tied for first but didn't have as many team members. Hilary was disappointed not to bring home an individual trophy.

Kevin and I went to the movies with another couple. It was great to go out and i really enjoy their company, but my sacrum just doesn't handle movies seats...

Thirty-Two Weeks, Three Days

Lilah's second birthday party was today. I spent the day cleaning and baking. Hilary helped a lot. When all was said and done the party was a success, but I realized that I cannot clean like that any more. I called my postpartum doula to ask if she would consider helping me and to my surprise she said yes! Now for the details...

Thirty-Two Weeks, Four Days

Another midwifery appointment. All is well. Baby A is down really low, I measured 37.5 cms. B is still breech but no longer posterior. I just want to sleep...

Thirty-Two Weeks, Five Days

Today's ultrasound confirmed the positions the midwife told us last night. Baby A is about 4 lbs 11 oz and baby B is 4 lbs 2 oz. ALl looks good at this point.

I took the kids trick or treating at the zoo last night. I was cold, wet, exhausted and so sore I could barely walk all night. Amazingly they loved it! That's what counts.

Hilary is stressed about going to middle school. She also says a bunch of things like, "It will be chaos when the twins come." Who is telling her this? Probably the same friend from school who likes to tell her about conjoined twins and meconium aspiration. *sigh*

Isaac says that Baby A is a girl named Owl and baby B is a boy named Nose. He loves to hug and kiss me and the babies. He also has to stand in front of me to "shade" the babies from light. He's too funny and adorable!
