When you have a cesarean, you will more than likely have staples in place for the first few days to hold the incision together. Your doctor will remove the staples either prior to you leaving the hospital or a few days later in the office.
Having the staples removed is usually not painful, although if the staples have become imbedded into the skin it is a bit more uncomfortable to have them removed. These usually do not leave very visible scars, either.
