Pregnancy Due Date Calculator

Calculate Your Due Date

Enter the first day of your last menstrual period:

This due date calculator will give you not only your due date, but will give you a whole calendar that you can print with the major milestones of your pregnancy by actual date. This includes telling you every week of pregnancy by date. It's a great reference to keep around. I'd suggest that you print it and put it where you can easily access it. You can also come back here for even more information every week.

It may seem strange to look at your pregnancy in terms of your last normal menstrual cycle. The reason that we use this date is that because the first day of your last period is when your body began preparing to become pregnant. The period is a simple way of your body cleaning itself out and starting a new lining in the uterus. This lining will become the bed that your fertilized egg will implant in.

Ovulation typically occurs about 14 days prior to the start of your next period. That is counting backwards. Since the length of your menstrual cycle may vary, counting backwards is the most accurate way to try to figure out when you ovulated. If we pin down the date that you most likely ovulated, we can have a better idea of what your due date will be in this pregnancy.

If you have a typical 28 day cycle, this means that you most likely ovulated on or near the 14th day of your cycle. If you have a 31 day cycle, you probably ovulated around day 17 of your cycle and so on. The above calculator does take into account your cycle length when predicting the due date of this pregnancy.

Once that fertilized egg implants, your body will start receiving hormonal signals. The one that we measure and look for in early pregnancy is called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This is measures in both blood and urine pregnancy tests.

You will notice that this pregnancy calculator not only provides you with a simple due date, but it has other dates added including when you should hear your babys heartbeat, when you may start to feel your baby move, the date of viability (considered the earliest your baby would survive being born), and more. These are guidelines and every pregnancy and baby will be different, but its a great way to think about what your pregnancy brings and what is going on when.

Consider pinning this calendar up on your refrigerator. It can be a good reminder of many things, it can also help you keep track of the weeks. The calendar also works well to help younger kids prepare for the baby as well. It makes a great countdown to baby.
