Middle Seat in the Back
The back seat is the safest seat for all children. Infants under 20 lbs. should ride in rear facing car seats. Infants over 20 lbs. should ride in car seats facing forward. Never ride with a baby on your lap. There are also special car seats for premature babies, called car beds.
