Robin Elise Weiss, BA, ICCE-CPE, CLC, CD(DONA), LCCE, FACCE is a childbirth and postpartum educator, certified doula, doula trainer, and lactation counselor. She and her husband, together, enjoy their eight children.
Since 1989, Robin has attended hundreds of births and taught couples about pregnancy and birth. She is the author of The About.com Guide to Having a Baby, About.com Guide to Baby Care, Guarantee the Sex of Your Baby, The Everything New Mother's First Year, The Everything Pregnancy Fitness Book, The Everything Getting Pregnant Book, Everything Parenting Guide to Raising Adolescent Boys and the upcoming The Complete Illustrated Pregnancy Companion. Robin is also a freelance writer and lectures across the country on pregnancy and health care topics. She is also the winner of the Elisabeth Bing Award, The Normal Birth Award and the President's Award from Lamaze International as well as the Coalition for Maternity Services (CIMS) Forum Award.
Robin has a degree in Liberal Arts with a focus on Reproductive Health Education and a minor in Communications from the University of Louisville. She has received her childbirth education certifications from Lamaze International and ICEA, where she is also certified as a postpartum educator. Robin is a doula and doula trainer, certified by DONA International. She is also certified as a lactation counselor.
