The First Response Early Pregnancy Test just got FDA approval for a new pregnancy test that can be used up to six days before your period is due. This is a whole day earlier than other pregnancy tests on the market. A company representative tells me that it measures 10 mIU of hCG in the urine.

The obvious benefit of knowing that you are pregnant sooner, even by a day, is the health benefits.  Knowing that you are pregnant you can adopt a healthier lifestyle sooner.  Though I would argue that the vast majority of women who think that they are pregnant six days before their period were most likely trying to get pregnant and already taking these precautions.

The pregnancy test should hit the shelves by the end of the week. Join us in the forum, where we're talking about the new pregnancy test.

It’s great to hear that there is already a home pregnancy test you can use even use before your period is late. I have a baby already but I want to have another one and it would give me a lot of happiness to know immediately. I am preparing for my next baby. Also the home test is very cheap.

Thank you very much for keeping us informed.
