Constipation is a side effect of pregnancy. Left untreated it can lead to hemorrhoids. So how do you prevent or ease constipation? Some moms eat lots of fruits and veggies, others drink water. What's your prevention or cure for constipation in pregnancy? Share Your Tips

Fiber

Eat lots of roughage, like green veggies. That really helped me.

My doctor recommended a fiber supplement. I was a bit leery. His nurse told me that I could work on increasing my fiber with certain foods. I ate sweet potatoes for dinner, I sprinkled a bit of fiber bran flakes in with my regular cereal, and that was all I had to do.

I thought they were joking!

I've never been constipated before. It was awful. My midwife suggested lots of fiber, water and exercise. So I ate cereal and fruit as a snack every day and walked. This helped a lot and I never had another issue with it.
