Discovery Health's I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant is a dramatic reenactment of pregnancy stories where the baby is born nearly immediately after discovering that mom was pregnant. If fact they say it has to be within two weeks of discovery but preferably in labor! Some moms boycott the show calling it dumb, while others admit it's their guilty pleasure. Is it fun or fiction? Is it worth your time? Why do you or don't you watch I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant? Share Your Thoughts

Shock to everyone

My mom found out she was pregnant when she was 28 almost 29 weeks. Everything was normal with her. The only sign were back pain and really sore after work but she was all ways like that. Her periods were not normal in the frist place and she just coughed it up to stress casue it happened before. She 35 years old and im her only child and I'm turning 18. she knew right when she got pregnant with me. Her doctor even said she couldnt get pregnant again...This was a shock to everyone.

Its definatly true

My girlfriend who I've been with for 5 years found out she was pregnant 5 days ago. We went for first apt. Today with a midwife and after a long day found out the baby is due in 2 weeks! The dr. was ready to send us home thinking we were 6 weeks along. At the last min she used a doppler to listen for heartbeat. Everyone was shocked and couldn't believe it. We are normal hard working people, my girlfriend is a nurse. She never missed period the whole cycle. We have 2 weeks to get ready to be parents. Crazy!

Anything is possible

I think it is possible for a pregnancy to go undetected, and with all the details that has been given with each of the stories, it hard to just make that up. A woman's body is amazing and until it happens to you, for some people it will be hard to believe. But that's the purpose of the show, to let people know that there are women who were pregnant and didn't know it.

Overly Dramatic, But Believeable:

My mother didn't know she was pregnant with my oldest brother until she was 5 months along. Not only did the doctors tell her she couldn't have children, but she was having regular periods and not exhibiting any pregnancy symptoms other than abdominal swelling. Every pregnancy test she took during those five months also came up negative. The doctors thought she had another tumor and were doing a pre-op examination when they discovered the "tumor" was actually a baby. I do think the show is a little over-dramatized, but other than that it is completely believable for any woman to be mistaken about the symptoms of their pregnancy until labor. My mother didn't know she was pregnant with twins (on her third pregnancy), and as a result my twin brother was born in April--in a toilet--and passed away; I was saved after my mother rushed to the hospital to stop preterm labor. My mother didn't go into labor again until July, a month premature, but I was perfectly healthy. The show is believable.

Never Believed It UNTIL

I think that these women have signs but are in denial for some reason or another. I never believed it until it happened to a young high school girl where I worked, and yes, in a toilet. It was the craziest thing I have ever seen. The girl was soooooo freaked out by it. Some people always have stomach issues and maybe if there is slight movement, it is attributed to that. I know, for me, I didn't know I was pregnant with my eldest son and even had surgery, come to find out, I was like three months along. I was so worried about him having birth defects because I was on so much medicine after the surgery. I had my periods for the first five months of pregnancy. I think every woman's body is different.

A Miracle

I wouldn't have believed it I was in a bad wreck and was stat flighted to USA hospital, barely conscious I found out I was going into labor and that I was 41 weeks pregnant and gained only a few pounds I have a healthy baby boy named McKadden, he's 3 and my miracle.

I may be alone on this....

I think that it's completely possible. My sister and I both ended up being pregnant at the same time, but she had no idea. I'm due in November and she just gave birth in August. She was 42 weeks along and looked like I did at 14 weeks. It was crazy! I wouldn't believe it either if it hadn't happened to someone close to me. She's almost 21 and she still had her period and she did end up going to the doctor for abdominal cramping but they didn't give her a test. They just told her how to fix it. She ended up giving birth in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. 6.5 lbs 19" long healthy little boy.

Saw it once

I watched it once, and have heard the like from others. But really.,.. I don't buy it. Not in the least! I mean maybe I could see not knowing you were pregnant until well into your 2nd trimester if it was your first pregnancy but that's as far as I'll go. I think the women portrayed on this show making it all the way to delivery with supposedly subsequent pregnancies are just flat out being untruthful, for whatever reason it may be. There's just no way! I don't buy it! A woman's body tells her! And you just can't not feel your baby kicking in the latter months, no matter how obese. The show is phony and these women need to quit pretending!

How could that be possible

That show should not be reality show. I mean come on, how could any woman not know that she is pregnant as a human being?

Are you kidding me??

I've never seen the show and don't think I want to. At 20 years old, I was 5'7" tall and about 145 pounds. I went to change birth control and my Dr says you are pregnant. Did an U/S and blood work. I was 4 months along! Never knew. I had gained about 5 pounds but never had the first symptom. I even was having my periods every month and was slightly thicker in my waist. Just thought I was bloated or eating too much. That was my first pregnancy, so I could see missing it. But come on. I don't know of any women personally who can carry full term and not suspect something. The round belly...kicking... at least those two are a given in pregnancy, right? Please. This is a joke and complete waste of time. Anything for a buck, right ladies?? Some people.

I just don't get it...

I've watched it but I don't understand how you could not know that long into pregnancy. I mean, how do you explain fetal movement? That would be some really painful gas.
—Guest Mom2Twins

They should rename the show...

To "Toilet Births!" I guess it's a normal reaction to want to go to the bathroom but I find it hilarious all babies born on the toilet on the show.

I Don't Enjoy It

I don't like this show because 1. the people on the show do not seem well educated and 2. they make birth look frantic and ridiculous, which it is not. I prefer to change the channel.
