From the article: Hypnosis for Labor
Hypnosis is one pain relief method used for labor. It can replace the epidural for women who are trained and practiced in the art of self hypnosis. There are generic hypnosis classes available as well as ones such as the Hypnobirthing® Method. Have you taken a class or tried hypnosis for labor? How did it work for you? Did you have a doula or someone to help you with the techniques? Share Your Story

- Thinking about becoming a Childbirth Educator. We studied Bradley with our first. Husband coached me through all three labors. I keep hearing about hypnobirthing, but know few people who have used it. The friend whose experience I asked about it didn't describe painless births or more relaxed births than I experienced. I have read critiques that some hypnobirth training leaves women without enough information and unprepared. I am curious which direction I should go. So I am gathering info.

Hypnobabies
- I used hypnobabies for my last birth. It was a short birth, but it was unreal and beautiful. It was the only time I've ever given birth (and I have five children) and said, directly after--"I want to do it again." It was the best experience ever. I was so calm and cool that my midwife didn't know when I was having contractions. My husband finally told her that when I closed my eyes, I was feeling pressure waves. (I told them not to say contractions or pain.) It was the first time they'd seen a hypnobabies birth, and they were amazed by it as well. I'd recommend it to anyone.
