Are hospital gowns sooo yucky????
- I dont know what I will do. I wore a hospital gown my first delivery and everything and everyone came out ok!!! But now that i'm thinking about it it is kinda yucky!!!! Maybe I'll be wearing my hubby's undershirts for labor then I'll change into something comfy for after.

Hospital Gown!
- I wore the standard issue gown - they pretty much had take off EVERYTHING and put it on as soon as I got there anyway. They even provided new slipper socks as needed for my whole stay. I switched from a regular gown to a nursing gown after the baby was born and they had (thin) robes for me to wear whenever I left the room. I'll use their sheets too - if anything was gross it'd be on the sheets more than the gown anyway. But I found it fine to be scantily clad as I'm pretty modest and it helps to get that out of the way early to be comfortable in labor, and I don't wear nightgowns at home and so didn't have anything appropriate.

Laboring comfy
- With both pregnacies I wore hospital gown because I didn't want my clothes to get all gross not just from the actual labor but from all the goo and stuff they put on you to monitor you. Also it's easier to do epidural with hosital gown on and I didn't have to throw away my clothes after. Keep in mind the gown is only while your delivering, aftter the baby is born shower and change into your own clothes which is what I did and it felt wonderful.

Something black!
- I practically live in black anyway so my labour will be no different, was thinking an old long black vest top to give birth in that I can just bin & buying myself a nice new pair of comfy pj's for after (black of course!). Also, the colour will disguise the natural mess of the birth during those first precious moments with my partner & newborn.

Filthy!
- I would wear something I brought from home. How many people have worn that hospital gown?

Nightgown
- I wore a short nightgown so it would not get in the way. I also wore socks because my feet were cold.

Uncomfortable
- The thought of wearing a gown that other women have pooped on, labored in and gotten bloody just creeps me out. I'm due in 2 months with my first and I'm going to wear my own night gown that I can either wash or throw away afterward.

Wear what you want!
- You can wear what you want in labour! I was hoping to wear a bra with no wire and a nighty but my friend said they took hers of her she couldn't keep it on.

What to Wear for Labor
- I think I will wear a hospital gown or my boyfriend's shirt because he wears them big.

Free as a bird...
- Two more months, and I've already decided that being naked is the way to go.

Maternity Singlet
- I wore a gown last time and it was hopeless! I was labouring on hands and knees and it basically fell off me, so I ended up naked and embarassed but unable to do anything about it. So this time I plan to wear a maternity singlet with fold-down front for breastfeeding (it clips at the straps). That way hopefully I will preserve some dignity while delivering and I can still have skin-to-skin contact with the baby straight afterward. It's white so I can soak it if I need to, or I can just throw it away - it's already been through two pregnancies!

a couple different things
- We're getting closer to our homebirth. I'm planning on a water birth so I plan on delivering in an old maternity swim top I have. I'll probably labor in a comfy tshirt or night gown... Just basically whatever I feel like wearing at that moment in time :)

Hospitol gowns are horrible
- I am going to wear an old t-shirt of my husband's and it can go in the garbage when it's all done.

not sure
- I wore a hospital issue gown for the first and was mortified when in the cafeteria everyone saw my back side. And then in the front where there are two holes for breastfeeding I assume my breasts would pop out. I was totally uncomfortable. This time I would be so happy to get to wear a gown from home even if I have to throw it away. I think my dignity and pride would be a lot less wounded next time when I go to get a bite to eat in the hospital.
