From the article: I was drinking before I found out I was pregnant, is the baby okay?
Are there things you did before you found out you were pregnant that worry you? Nearly every pregnant woman has something on her list that she worries about. Whether it was a drink of alcohol, not taking your prenatal vitamins, a poor diet or too much exercise. While your practitioner will usually tell you not to worry, it doesn't keep us from worrying. What worries you?
Medication
- I had a bad cough before I found out I was pregnant and used about three bottles of cough medicine and strepsils. Can this affect my baby?

What DIDN'T I do wrong???
- I found out on New Years Eve via three EPT's that I'm pregnant. I figure I'm about five and a half weeks, almost six, from the first day of my last period, so I probably got pregnant about three weeks ago. We were not trying to get pregnant. Actually, the opposite. I was on birth control pills and had been taking them until the 30th when we went on vacation and I left them behind. Not only was I on birth control, but we both smoke, and although it wasn't much, on our vacation I did drink a bit. My biggest concern is that my birth control may have caused my pregnancy to be Ectopic which means the egg implanted somewhere other than my uterus which is known to happen to women who are taking birth control and conceive. As if this wasn't scary enough for us since it was unplanned, now I'm worried our baby might have been harmed, or that I might be harmed.

Yikes
- I just found out I was pregnant 2 days ago. In the past 2 weeks I was involved in a single vehicle roll over and donated plasma. I thought it was just the flu till I thought about it being late but its normal for my period to be 2 weeks late in times of stress but I took a test anyways and all 3 of them said pregnant!! Pray for the best!

Drinking at 7 weeks.
- I thought plans were not going as expected and decided to take a night "off." I ended up very sick the next day, and did drink quite a but. Since I have been to the doctor and the sonogram turned out fine. I was too scared to talk to my doctor in front of my mom, and didn't say anything about it. I hope that one night didn't ruin my baby's whole life.

I drank for six weeks before I knew
- I was worried sick in case I had caused any problems. I spoke to about four midwives and a Dr about my concerns. They pretty much all said "you aren't technically pregnant for first two weeks and for the next couple of weeks baby is just dividing cells. They also said as long as you have stopped IMMEDIATELY you should be fine!!" I was also told if I had done the foetus that much damage that early on, I would have miscarried. I read and re-read items on the net about FAS etc...and still got scared despite all the advice right from week 6 to week 29. However, I just had a 3D/4D private scan and pleased to say baby is absolutely fine. I think the problem occurs when women binge drink the whole way through pregnancy as different weeks of pregnancy develop different parts of the foetus for example brain development in weeks 24 - 28. I hadn't planned my little one (although over the moon about it) but next time I will stop at the point of planning.

Worried Mother to be
- I only just found out I'm pregnant a couple of days ago, and I haven't been drinking a lot lately, but I have drinking excessive amounts of alcohol on special occasions before. Even if it only happened maybe once, could that still affect my baby in a negative way?

During and before
- I had a wild summer traveling, and drank everyday, and smoked a rolled cig here and there. I was very active though, doing yoga and working out daily to get toned for my wedding. Got preggo the morning after my wedding and carried on lighter than the summer but still drinking a beverage almost every night, and I just found out at 5 weeks, I'm preggo! I'm worried that my previous lifestyle is damaging. ;( I never wanted to worry about that. I planned on cleansing first and not drinking for a month before.
