Went to Yard Sales and Resale Shops
- My children were outfitted with clothing from resale shops up until they were about eight years old. That's about the time kids start wearing their clothes out rather than outgrowing them. As they get older it is tougher to find used clothing for them in styles they will wear. Pregnancy is a good time to start looking for sales for infant wear and baby furniture. Getting hand me downs for your baby from friends and relatives can help too. I wore my husband's large flannel shirts instead of buying maternity tops for wearing around the house.

Skipped the "extras"
- I think people go way over board and spend way too much money on things they don't need in general, but this whole baby crazy must have new everything and for every baby - what a waste! We found some cool used baby furniture (stroller, bouncer seat, etc.) and then used the rest to buy a new car seat.
