From the article: The Baby Namer
Naming your baby is such a fun thing to spend time thinking about. Though there are so many great names out there. Are you a traditionalist? Do you like new age names? What did you (or will you) name your baby girl? What does that name mean? Where is it from? Give us the scoop on the name! Share Your Baby Girl Name
Malia
- I picked my daughter's name 19 years before she was born. (and yes, that means my husband had no say in the matter) I had met this girl named Malia, and I simply thought it was the most beautiful name I had ever heard. I also liked that it was so unique. Only after she was born did I learn that President (then only a candidate) Obama's daughter's name was Malia.

Traditional, but a little sassy
- Our daughter's name is Joanna and we call her Josie. We really wanted to call her Josie and debated for awhile about whether to name her just that, or to give her a more formal name (either Josephine or Joanna). We chose Joanna because we have a lot of relatives named both Joseph and Ann. Also our last name is long and hard to spell and that + Josephine seemed like too much of a mouthful.

We like...
- Strong names for girls, but not quite boy names. Our daughter will be named Ruth. Though lots of names fit in this category. Ruth means friend.
