The Theme I Choose
We didn't do a nursery since we were family bed people but for their 2nd birthday we did their first bedroom with furniture that they used the entire time they lived home and took with them.
How I Did It:
For our daughter was an outdoors theme - we had a deep green wool carpet, a bright yellow bedspread and white cafe curtains with rainbow stripes of color across the bottom and as the valance - we did framed photos of animals and rainbow scenes with natural wood toned furniture.
With our son we also did a woodland cabin feel - similar dark green carpet, natural wood tone furniture, plaid (reds, greens, blacks) bedspread and duck/animal accents.
Advice
- Our goal was to choose furniture and themes that would grow with them and could be modified very easily...we were a military family and moved often and it was also easy to move from one place to another.
