Not much except insist to give labor a go. Have your mind set on trying and see what happens.

How my birth happened

I sought out a doctor that would consider letting me try a VBAC after two c sections. He said as long as things look safe we would give it a go. Last doc appointment my fluid was low, doctor said now or never. Went to hospital, labor induced, I dilated fairly quickly, then pushed that kid out. Was scared because of the possible problems but I have never felt more proud that I stuck to it and had a amazingly supportive doctor.

Lessons learned

  • Wish I was more keen on VBAC info for my 2nd kid, I would have insisted it for then. Give it a go, it is 100 percent better that c-section and will leave you satisfied with knowing the feeling of childbirth, that's my advice.

Robin Elise Weiss, LCCE, Pregnancy & Childbirth Guide, says:

Having a supportive doctor or midwife is one of the best things that you can do when trying to plan a VBAC or avoid a first c-section.
