What I did to prepare for birth

I really wasn't prepared, he came 3 1/2 weeks early, my blood pressure was high an my lower stomach was hurting. I let my self get to mad about stuff and caused a high blood pressure. I went to the hospital and they said I had preeclampsia and needed to get the baby out. My boyfriend had to go home and get things for me.

How my birth happened

Well after the doctor had announced I had preeclampsia. My parents were there and my boyfriend was at work cause I went in early morning and they were still trying to see what was going on and so he went to work. The doctor told me they would insert half a pill to help start contractions that night and that I would have the baby the next day. Well, they took me to the delivery room. My boyfriend finally came and everyone was sitting in the chairs and we were just talking and visiting well not 5 minutes after they put in the pill they gave me something in my IV to help me sleep. I immediately started getting sleepy. Everyone was thinking of heading home. Shortly after that my mom started noticing that I was gripping the sheets. Everyone stuck around and they started monitoring my contractions. Sure enough they started with in a couple minutes they got harder and everyone was by my side also calling everyone that I’m about to have the baby. Contractions were only 2 minutes apart to start out with then as soon as one would stop another would start. Within 1 hour from when my contractions started I had my little boy. He was small just 4 lbs 11oz but healthy and perfect. He came fast and unexpected. I only pushed twice and he was out.

Lessons learned

  • I know not to worry about anything that I can't change and let people be who they are and take care of myself. I just thank god my baby is healthy and nothing went wrong.

Robin Elise Weiss, LCCE, Pregnancy & Childbirth Guide, says:

The pill she is referring too is most likely Cytotek (Misoprostol). Rapid labor is one of the known risks of using this medication.
