When you are having breastfeeding problems you need to already have a plan for getting help. Many moms turn to places like La Leche League, a free, volunteer run group that provides both individual help as well as a support group. For bigger breastfeeding issues you would want to talk to your lactation consultant (IBCLC) or lactation counselor (CLC). These professionals have a variety of educational backgrounds, with the counselor position not having taken the international board certifying exam. You may also need to work in conjunction with your pediatrician.
