The Bottom Line

The OV Watch Fertility Predictor is a very interesting concept. It was easy to use and not troublesome. If it works as advertised it will be an amazing revolution to the trying to get pregnant crowd. The actual first design of this product is a slightly clunky attempt. I look forward to future modifications.

Guide Review - OV Watch Fertility Predictor - Ovulation Prediction Watch

The OV Watch Fertility Predictor looks like a watch. This purple and gray watch like device is not a poor fashion statement, but rather a unique device that reads the sodium chloride ions on your skin to help predict when you ovulate sooner than standard LH testing in most ovulation prediction kits (OPK). It should also provide forewarning faster than the basal body temperature charts (BBT).

You wear the watch daily for at least six hours, though you can also just put it on and forget it. It should tell you about four days before you ovulate that you are entering your fertile period to help you conceive. It will also give you displays for Ovulation Day One and Ovulation Day Two and a couple of subsequent less fertile days. When you are not fertile, it reads NF for not fertile.

The sensor gets replaced every month, which was easy enough to remove and change. The only maintenance it requires is to check the sensor to ensure that there isn't a build up of salt. You just wipe it off daily with a cloth.

When I wore it for review purposes, I did do LH testing to see if it was on track with the OPK and it did have the same message as both LH testing and fertility signals. So it seems to have helped me pinpoint ovulation.

My only complaints are that the design was a bit sports watch and not in a good way. I think that future designs should include a more stylish look for women who wish to put it on and leave it on daily. You also had to have the strap on fairly tight to make sure it read well. It was also a great conversation starter. I talked to a lot of people about the watch. Probably the most hilarious was when it started beeping wildly over dinner with friends. I didn't know what else to say but, "Hurry up honey it's time!" We all laughed but apparently I had just hit the wrong button.
