Surviving the two week wait can be a real bear. The emotions! The physical symptoms! For some it can be just enough to drive you insane. Here are some things that moms have done to help keep sane and work on surviving the two week wait.
- Read a book.
This means read any book but a pregnancy book. Try a list of new best sellers or classic books you've been meaning to read but never had the time.
- Clean out a closet.
Pick a closet, any closet. Clean it up the right way. If you have multiple closets, consider repeating.
- Ignore pregnancy symptoms.
As tempting as it may be, tell yourself that pregnancy symptoms are all in your head. Remind yourself it's really PMS until you know better. It also goes without saying that you should avoid a pregnancy test at all costs, no matter how early it says it can tell if you're pregnant.
- See a movie.
Whether you go to a new release or a movie that came out awhile ago, a movie is a great way to spend some time.
- Finish a project.
Do you have a million half finished projects? A half painted room? A pile of knitting that has projects left to be done later? Try finishing a few of those now.
- Write personal letters to long lost friends.
Writing handwritten letters is not a common practice any more. But think of how cheered your friends will be when they find a letter form you in the mail.
- Get a pedicure.
Get your toe nails taken care of or your hands. This can really be anything that pampers you.
- Clean out your email.
Got a back log of email? Now is a great time to clean it out.
- Watch your previously recorded things on the DVR.
Just like email piles up, so do movies and shows on the DVR. Be sure to clear that out as well.
- Write it all out on a blog.
A blog is a way to talk about anything, even the misery of the two week wait. It's a neat way to look back and see how you were feeling at this point in your life.
