The DVD starts off with Rainbeau talking about how to modify each pose for the particular trimester that you are in. Rather than just give you a quick review up front, as so many other videos do, I like the fact that they have a woman from each trimester involved with the entire workout. So from the get go, you know that by following which woman, you'll be doing modifications that are safe for that time frame. This was very easy to follow and was referenced again in the workout.
The set is relaxing and not cluttered which can often distract me when I'm trying to listen or pay attention to what each workout is physically doing. The music is also soft and subtle. There were only a few times I was really aware of it.
Even as a yoga beginner I was able to do most of what the video was talking about. A few times I opted for the third trimester versions, which are often easier or use aids like bolsters or blankets. While this wasn't your typical workout, Rainbeau and I were both a bit short of breath as we got towards the end. I liked the fact that the instructor was open and honest - not to mention having to narrate the entire process.
The total play time was 50 minutes, including a brief relaxation. It seemed a bit long to me, though many people who have been doing yoga for quite awhile might find that timing to be just right.
You can also play specific chapters for labor only, though they are straight from the DVD. Also available in VHS.
