Guide Review - Making More Milk

As a certified lactation counselor, I know a thing or two about breastfeeding. If you add to that title, the fact that I've nursed all eight of my kids... well, you get the picture. I was blown away with this book.

Included in one volume were some of the most through and accurate descriptions of how breastfeeding works and more importantly how breast milk supply works. The focus of the book is definitely how to increase your supply, but the background information is extremely helpful. The authors explain difficult matters easily and in a way that they make sense.

The various chapters help you if you know where to start. Let's say for example, you knew that your baby had a nursing issues. You could open the book to that chapter and be on your way. Or if you didn't have a clue, starting from the beginning and working your way through all the different ideas you could narrow down your issues and begin to work on a good supply of breast milk.

I truly love the positive feel to the book. And yet it is very realistic about milk supply and that fact that not every mother will have the milk supply that she wants. The chapter on coming to terms with your milk supply was needed and thoughtful.
