Safety Features
The necklace portion is also carefully constructed with safety in mind. The first thing that they thought about was with a baby pulling on the necklace it has to have a safety mechanism to prevent you from choking. This also helps prevent your baby from becoming entangled and hurting themselves. There are also no parts that come off the necklace, which would be a choking hazard. Despite these safety mechanisms, you should never leave your baby alone with this necklace, nor should you let your baby wear the necklace.
The Chewbeads Necklaces

- Hudson (single color flat discs)
- Bleecker (multiple color spheres)
The Jane Necklace looks very lovely, and my baby loved to play with it, particularly when nursing. This prevented the baby from playing with my hair or other "parts," if you know what I mean. The silicone beads were well loved, and the color is very vibrant. There are about 16 colors available, though it varies by style of necklace. The only problem that I had was the beads were fairly large and heavy. I don't wear a lot of jewelry, so this was unusual for me. My comfort level might have been higher were I used to wearing jewelry. So I solved the problem by carrying it in my diaper bag.
The necklace was also very easily cleaned. I simply ran some water over it and cleaned off the mess from my baby's fingers. It is also dishwasher safe, but I haven't felt the need for that level of clean.
If necklaces aren't your speed, they also have a couple of bracelets to choose from if you don't prefer necklaces.
