You can also decide to make this mom and baby related. So you would instruct guests to write blessing or gratitudes that are directed towards mom and baby.
You could also do this as a paper chain activity. The difference would be strips of construction paper. The mom could then use it to decorate baby's room or use it as a motivation decoration/focal point in labor. You might alter the idea to be baby advice as well, but you have to be very careful opening this up because you can offend people with advice that conflicts with their personal parenting beliefs.
