If you are getting off to a rough start with breastfeeding or your baby is having some weight gain issues, a baby scale might be used more frequently. Still this weight can be done at your lactation counsultant or pediatric office. This also will typically mean that you have a more accurate weight by having it repeated on the same scale over and over. Some of the baby scales from your lactation consultant's office can measure a tenth of an ounce and can actually be used in determining your baby's breast milk transfer from feedings. These specialty baby scales are very expensive and not worth it for the average family.
