Guide Review - Open Top Take Along Swing by Fisher Price

My very first baby swing was a hand me down over 14 years ago. It was hand cranked and you woke the baby up every time you wound the noisy crank. You also bonked the baby's head on the swing mechanism at the top a lot. So I was pleased to find this open top swing. It is much kind to baby's head. It also lays back to help younger babies who tend to like swings better anyway.

This swing is designed to be light weight and portable, which it does very well. It moves from room to room easily and folds up for longer travels. I originally got this swing to take to work with me because it doesn't take up a lot of space. So you may like it because you can stow it easily if you are in tight housing quarters.

The swing takes batteries, four big ones. I really dislike batteries these days, so that is my bias. If your baby likes to swing a lot you might invest in rechargeable batteries.

The swing power is not as great as I expected from a five speed swing. That said, you don't really want a swing to go too quickly. It does swing, back and forth as it should. And it swings at five levels, just slow ones.

The price is right on this little swing though. At less than $40 you could even feel okay putting it on a baby shower registry. There are also a couple of patterns that it is available in.
