Guide Review - Flip Cloth Diaper Review

I love the idea of a cloth diaper that makes travel easy. I'm always conflicted when we travel - take the cloth diapers or disposable? Cotton Babies has helped create a one-size diaper to fit this bill. I loved the adjustability of this diaper. The reusable inserts can be customized to the size of your baby. Both the disposable insert and the reusable insert were very absorbent. I had a little trouble with the inserts shifting in the diaper, since they are not snapped in. The cover did not leak and fit snugly around my toddler's chunky thighs. The problems that I encountered with this diapering system were mostly due to the lack of gussets in the inserts. When my daughter had a bowel movement the contents got on the cover. Once I ran out of clean covers I had to use a different diapering system until I could get to a washing machine. Mostly I think the Flip diaper has a lot of great qualities and if a newer generation included a few different features it would be out of this world.

Awesome diaper!, Member pamelarose28

While it is true that the solids may leak off from the diaper onto the cover, I never had any problems with it leaking out of the cover with either breast milk or solid foods. And, what I loved most about these was that since we had to pay quarters to do laundry, I could get by with 6 covers and hand wash them easily between laundry loads. If washed in the morning, they were dry and ready to use again by evening. It turned out to be much cheaper in price than other diapers like the bumgenius ones because so few covers were needed (pocket diapers you should have at least 12!), and I could use them with the relatively inexpensive prefolds. I agree that when my son got to the walking/running stage there were more issues with the insert moving around, but I think that could be solved very simply by placing in a strip of velcro or some type of snap to the insert and cover. when I was having insert issues, I tried a couple of other types of diapers, and wish now that I had saved my money - they just didn't work as well, and I found myself running out of diapers more often because of not being able to wash every 2 days.
