Some families choose to wash their new baby's clothes in specialty products like Ivory Snow or Dreft. This means that you would usually wash the baby's clothes separately. This can be quite expensive and the perfumes in some of these laundry detergents may irritate your baby's skin.
Other families choose to simply use regular laundry products like Tide or Cheer in the dye and perfume free variety. Then you can always add an additional rinse to help remove the detergent.
Care should be taken in the dryer as well. Do not use dryer sheets or other perfumed items that may cause your baby's skin to be irritated.
