Eight Weeks

While I've made it, I woke up in a panic. I felt terribly negative about the pregnancy this morning. Was I really going to come out the other end with a baby? What was I feeling in my uterus, was it cramping or stretching?

I'm still sickly and let's not even talk about what smells do to me. I stayed in bed until nearly 3 PM, even through a visit from my mother. These are all good signs, I keep telling myself.

It's been a good day except for the summons to jury duty.

Eight Weeks, One Day

The whole baby situation has made us reevaluate our housing needs. You guessed it, that means we spent today house hunting.

Eight Weeks, Five Days

We heard the heartbeat! I have a early detection Doppler for the midwifery practice and I contorted my body and tried because it's rated for 8-9 week detection. I heard it once, and I was in the car waiting for my daughter to leave choir practice. All I could see was me getting pulled over for having my pants pulled slightly down in my car in the parking lot!

I came home to let Kevin listen to it and he was angry that I was listening. We didn't hear it for a second and I stopped listening. Then I told him I really needed to hear it for comfort reasons. He gave in and started to walk away when we heard about 5 seconds of it before the baby swam away. There really is a baby in there!
