Thirty Six Weeks, Two Days

My trip to Toronto has worn me out! And yes, I am done traveling. I had a great time and managed not to have the baby while I was gone. I had some many questions about what would happen if I did have the baby in Canada, it was pretty funny. I did, however, have a Canadian Mucus Plug.

Our birth planning party is this coming week. This is where we share our birth plan with those who might be with us during the birth and answer any questions. I'm still trying to decide about my mother-in-law and mother. Kevin wants me to do the same with both, but the truth of the matter is that my mother was well behaved during the last birth. Though I do understand that it would make his life a lot easier explaining it to his mother.

His mother, for those of you who don't know the story, actually called me up and told me that my baby was dead. She said this the day I turned 42 weeks, which also happened to be the day I gave birth. I eventually told her that if she couldn't basically "knock it off" then she was no longer invited to the birth. Well, as luck would have it I went into labor and we never spoke again. She just came anyway. She also stood in front of the camera for the birth and kept her head stuck between my legs!

At the time I didn't notice her, but it's really started grating my nerves to realize how rude she was to others at the birth, how I don't have the video of Isaac's first few minutes because she was too interested, and how she just came without being asked. It's a tough one...

Oh and for those of you who wish to participate in the baby pool, here's the link:

Thirty Six Weeks, Three Days

Well my birth kit arrived! Talk about excitement... Nothing like a box of blue pads, gloves, and cord clamps to give a girl a few contractions!

Kevin and I emptied the box and surveyed the contents to ensure that everything was present. I kept looking at the little bitty white baby hats and thinking that soon there would be a head to fill it.

We also took Hilary, Benjamin and Isaac to the hospital classes for siblings. Isaac paid attention but didn't seem to get a lot out of it. Although he was complemented on his baby holding skills. They also got a cute coloring book and had their photos taken. So our fridge is now covered with more photos of the kids looking happy.

All in all a great day!
