Thirty Four Weeks

Greeting from New York City! Yes, I was brave enough to not only travel, but to bring Hilary, our 8 year old daughter. We've been taking it slowly and trying to enjoy it. I can't walk fast and I can't walk far, but we're seeing a bit each day and taking lots of naps.

I also had my photos taken by Catherine Steinmann who is a famous photographer of pregnant women. It was a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. We're going home tomorrow, more later!

Thirty Four Weeks, Six days

My hormones are in overdrive. I'm either crying or angry, there isn't much in between those two emotions. It's rather annoying. I need a bit of patience to get me through the day!

We had my husband's birthday party the other night and my in-laws and my mother came over. They bickered for an hour and were generally not pleasant. My mother-in-law actually stared at my belly any time she thought she could get away with it. I was so miserable. I was relieved when they left to go home and watch Big Brother!

The baby's dresser is here. And like fools we allowed the company to talk us into to bringing it home ourselves. Now it's stuck in the garage and we can't get it up the stairs. I just want to put away some diapers and baby clothes!

The good news is that the baby is doing really well. S/he is very active and enjoys playing with anyone who will take the time to poke around. It's very neat to be able to feel "parts" that are identifiable now. It's obviously a foot, or a leg rather than "What was that?" This is the part I'll miss about pregnancy...

Thirty Four Weeks, Six days (later)

You know I complain a lot, so I thought I'd better write it down about the sweet morning I've had.

I've been cleaning up for a visit from my sister and her family. I decided to sit down and take a break with a copy of a baby name book to flip through. As I read through the book I came to a part on ceremonies surrounding birth and newborns. Some were so incredibly sweet and meaningful to me that I was literally choked up trying to read them to Kevin. It really made me look forward to those first few moments of our new baby's life. Those moments are so special and so fleeting. I'm now smiling and teared up again...
