Thirty Weeks, Two Days

Vacation starts tomorrow, oopps, I meant school starts tomorrow! Hilary and Benjamin will go off on the bus and next week Isaac will go back to preschool. It will be nice to have some quiet time to get the house in order, but I'll also miss them.

It also means that the baby is right around the corner. I've often used the start of school to signal the start of Fall, and guess what, just a few short weeks away is baby! I still haven't ordered the birth kit. We don't have a changing table. I need to get cracking...

Thirty Weeks, Three Days

I feel so relieved! We ordered a glider (big splurge) and a changing table/dresser combo. We did have to explain to the man why we didn't need a crib. He said that the family bed sounded like it was great but could I please not tell people about it so he could continue to sell cribs. Very odd exchange...

The bad part is that it's going to take a lot of time to get here and I feel like it's a race between the baby and the baby furniture. I just feel like we're on our way preparing for the baby. And as cheesy as it sounds I can't wait to fold little bitty clothes and stack toiletries and smell lotions again.

Thirty Weeks, Five Days

Kevin and I had a long talk the other night. He just doesn't feel as "into" this birth as he did the last one. It really came as a shock to me because I really felt like he was more into it this time after the last positive experience. We talked about potential causes, larger family, worried about me or baby, but he really feels like it's simply because he's depressed.

I was just feeling really psyched after being with all of the empowering women last week in St. Louis at a childbirth conference. I felt like the wind was knocked out of my sail a bit. However, I realize that I'm still okay. Baby is still okay. And everything will work out the way it needs to be.
