July 2, 2000:
Twenty Four Weeks, Two Days

I finally broke down and told Kevin's mom. I just cornered her alone in the kitchen and said, "I know you've probably figured out that we're about 6 months pregnant. Your son is being weird and not wanting to tell you." She said she had figured it out, and that Hilary had also told her (I told you those kids would be trouble!).

She knew better than to ask me much about the pregnancy considering she stalked me last time, but she did ask about my due date and I told her oddly enough the same as with Isaac. She said, "Oh November." And I said, "No October, he didn't come until November." She agreed not to talk about it. She also asked Kevin, after I had gone, if we knew if it was a boy or a girl.

Twenty Four Weeks, Three Days

This is the week I "celebrate" the milestone of my latest loss. Supposedly I'll be breathing more easily and rejoicing in the fact that the baby has a greater chance of survivability every day it stays in. Whew, sighs of relief can be heard every morning I wake up without incident.

We started childbirth classes tonight and it was a great group of couples, and odd mixture too! Some homebirthing couples and some hospital birthing couples. The class is led by a friend of mine and she's so perky it hurts. It's nice to be able to spend the night out focusing on the new baby, we rarely get to do that with the other three.

Everyone wants to know why we still take the classes. The truth is aside from having a night to focus on the new baby it gives us a chance to relearn the things we've forgotten, put it all in perspective and remember to practice. Last night when we laid down to relax, I sucked badly! And I'm supposedly the pro! Kevin was great and everything came back to him, but I hit mini-panic mode and wondered if I'd ever get through labor if I couldn't even remember how to relax...
