Eighteen Weeks, Two Days

I just spent the weekend away from home and moving stresses. The good news is that my belly is starting to poke out and that the baby is moving a lot more noticeably! S/he probably changed positions and is making the presence more known, which is fine by me!

It will be really nice to sleep in my very own bed tonight. I missed my body pillow and my bath tub, for that matter. Eating while away from home is always interesting but being pregnant makes it more so. I spent the afternoon driving with friends in search of BBQ, for them, while I was gagging and trying not to puke in the car.

I'm sleepy and getting really exhausted. I know it's just a part of pregnant life, but alas, why so early?

Tired. That's the best way to explain how I feel now. It's getting hot and humid where I live and I can only imagine how miserable summer will be. Last time I was pregnant we didn't have a car with air, so at least I have that going for me.

Everyone who knows is wondering if I want a girl or a boy. The kids all seem to want a girl. I do like the surprise. Having known before and not known before it's much better for me not knowing until then. While it's true that no matter when you find out it's always a surprise, the thrill for me was much greater at the birth. I can't wait to feel that again.

I suppose my preference, if I had to choose would actually be boy, simply because I've had a lot more practice. Obviously a girl has advantages too, evening out the family and refreshing my memory. Or maybe girls just scare me because I just had the facts of life talk with Hilary!
