Seventeen Weeks, Two Days

The house is a done deal. I told the sellers at closing, who happens to be an OB, that I hoped all the vomiting was due to stress rather than morning sickness, because now it would be over.

We hired movers because there is no way I can help being pregnant. My back is hurting nearly constantly already and I can feel contractions, though nothing regular.

Another positive note is that the baby has been felt moving again! S/he just kicked as I wrote that as if to emphasize it. I'm feeling a bit more positive. May I now enjoy the rest of my pregnancy and know that in 10 more days no more nightly trips downstairs to the bathroom, but rather just next to my bed! (The silly things us pregnant women think of!)

Seventeen Weeks, Four Days

Today Benjamin is seven years old! We talked about his birth and he loves to tell the story to everyone who will listen about how he was born on the bathroom floor. He started to show more of an interest in the new baby. He's asked several times to feel it kick. I tried to explain that the new baby was really little and it would be hard. I told him to press harder on my belly but he told me that if he did the baby would slide right out!

Morning sickness is still around, but I've learned to cope with it. Just when I started to think it meant girl for me, I read my old prenatal records from Isaac and realized I was sick the entire time with him too. I'll deal.

Seventeen Weeks, Six Days

I spent part of the night on the couch. After getting up to go to the bathroom around 4:30 AM I couldn't go back to sleep. At 5 I went to the couch and promptly fell asleep. Kevin may not like it, but hey any sleep is just that SLEEP!

This weekend I'll be in Atlanta and I'm becoming more and more fearful of flying. I had even considered driving to Atlanta to avoid the plane! Juliet and I talked about it, she said she feels more nervous now too. We both decided we have more to lose now than we had previously, like our kids.

Isaac informed me that the new baby will not nursey (breastfeed). I asked how we could feed the new baby and he said, "Baby, bottle!" No one told him he was already using hand-me-down boobs. Shhh...

Hilary and Kevin both seem to ignore the pregnancy as much as possible. I am finally unable to wear my jeans, although I still don't really need maternity clothes. Though I do admit that they are much more comfortable than my regular clothes, particularly as it gets warmer.

And we move in one week!
