April 22, 2000:
Fourteen Weeks

Another milestone! The weather was gorgeous this morning and so I had to get out. We took the kids and my mother-in-law to a nearby farm to pick veggies. The kids got free pony rides and we had some lunch. Eating this past week has been difficult because of my religious holidays. I'm surviving!

Sleep last night was difficult but I'm getting used to the idea of having sleepless nights. I'm going to just get out of bed and make sure I don't annoy Kevin while he is trying to sleep. He's great about letting me sleep in. Since today was Saturday and he got to sleep in he gave me a great massage this morning. My back and pelvis are already aching.

Another busy week ahead, but hopefully a more pleasant one. I've got to fix my outlook and get through the days with a more pleasant approach. Happy thoughts for baby!

Fourteen Weeks, One Day

I had another pregnancy dream last night, actually a birth one. This is really strange because I've had three in the last week and don't really remember having any that related specifically to the birth before. Any way, in this one I was a bride's maid at a wedding and at the reception I went into a back room and announced it was time. Then I told everyone that the baby was breech. One of my midwives was there, Mary Ann, and she said she had to go get her gloves and left. I just squatted over a blue gym mat and proceeded to have the baby, butt first! A boy no less. Then someone we know who is also a neonatologist was really mad because I wouldn't hand him the baby, who was fine and nursing.

So we've got three dreams, a girl, a boy and one I don't remember. Guess this means no real luck using my dreams to predict the gender!

Isaac was bouncing off my belly and we told him to quit. I said I had a baby in there. He peered into my belly button and said, "Where is the baby?" Kids at this age are too cute!

Today was much happier, we spent most of it out of the house. Maybe I just need to get out more...

Fourteen Weeks, Two Days

Okay, I admit it. I like loud music in the car. Only when my little ones aren't with me, though. The reason I confess is I believe little Nissim likes it too! She or he was bouncing away tonight as I rode alone in the car. It made me want to circle the block!

It's funny. When I feel the baby I *know* it's the baby. The further away I get from that moment the more I doubt myself. You'd think with baby #4 I'd be a bit more confident.

Fourteen Weeks, Four Days

This baby is really moving now! Yesterday as I sat in a meeting he or she was kicking up a storm. I was smiling and trying not to giggle with delight. It makes me feel a lot better!

Still no sleep for the weary, another few nights of insomnia past. I'm not used to this except at the very end. And this time my computer is in the bedroom upstairs so I can't type all night and at least be productive! So, I am reading a lot of books.

Fourteen Weeks, Five Days

I'm pretty talkative this week, no?

I had a prenatal this morning with my midwife. I usually measure a lot larger than I am supposed to so we were surprised I was only measuring 16 weeks today, but hey, I'm game. ;-) Everything else looked good, but couldn't hear the baby with the fetoscope. You normally can't until 18-20 weeks, but the placenta sounds good and is in a good spot.

Kevin and I were at Target and we played with toys. I asked the Magic 8 Ball if I was having a girl and it said Most definitely. So I asked if I was having a boy, it said no. Kevin asked girl and it said no. Kevin asked boy and it said no. Now Kevin is concerned. ;-)
