I decided to call the most interventive obstetrical group in the area. They asked when my last period was and then told me that they'd see me after 8 weeks. I told the lady I had a history of ectopics. She sounded confused and asked me to hold on a minute. I thought for sure she'd come back and tell me that they wanted to see me much sooner. I was wrong.
She said that they still wanted to see me at eight weeks. I was so livid. I knew that 6-7 weeks is the critical time for diagnosing an ectopic, particularly if I wanted to save my one remaining tube. And to top it off she had only talked to the medical assistant. The one exception was to call if I had problems. I was so upset I told her no thanks for the appointment that I wanted another group. She hung up on me!
I still can't believe that!
April 21, 2002: Five Weeks
Other than being tired all the time, I'm feeling pretty good. I'm watching my diet to ensure I'm eating a healthy selection and Kevin has been making me smoothies nearly every morning. Isn't he a sweetie?
