Thirty-Seven Weeks

Another week into the safety zone is really something to be thankful for today, Thanksgiving. We had my mother and grandmother over for dinner while Kevin and I did all the cooking. All in all it was a good day. The kids were a bit wild because they don't understand the concept of a large meal in the middle of the day. What about lunch? What about dinner? Grandma and mom think I should hurry up and have the babies because they think I'm being mean to the kids. LOL

Mom also brought the twins a present. She knitted them each a blanket and booties from her own made up pattern. It was really sweet and the blankets are very nice.

Last night I actually had two women stop me as we were out to eat, "Hon, we just have to know, When are you due and is it twins?" This is the first time anyone has asked! They were thrilled to know they were right.

Kevin and I laid around talking about how we were going to manage two babies. It's a scary prospect, but one we must face. We talked about sleep strategies and about how best to use our postpartum doulas. I think we have a good plan and enough flexibility to make it work.

Am I tired of being pregnant? Some days. Ask me when I'm getting up to go the bathroom in the middle of the night when I'm oh so stiff and the answer may be different from when I'm soaking in the tub. I'd actually like to wait until next Thursday. I've got a busy schedule until then! (Like that ever mattered...)

Thirty-Seven Weeks, One Day

We spent the first evening of Chanukah at a friend's house and had a blast! It was nice to just go and sit. Heck, the kids were even well behaved.

Thirty-Seven Weeks, Two Days

I had a very rough night. I was so exhausted and yet unable to sleep. Everything hurt, despite numerous comfort measures. I started crying and felt very depressed. Kevin didn't wake up. *sigh*

The day didn't get much better right away. When Kevin did wake up he was fairly sympathetic, but what can he really do? Denay came over and took me out shopping for beads for my Blessingway next week. It was nice to get out, despite my mood being sour. She tried her best to cheer me up and I did feel better when I got home.

Then we had my sister's family over for presents and candles. The kids had a blast and the adults played Trivial Pursuit. It was so much fun. I miss doing that.

December 1, 2002:
Thirty-Seven Weeks, Three Days

Looks like the babies will have December birthdays! (Bite your tongue if you're thinking January!) My friend April will be here on Tuesday. My friend Kim comes home tomorrow night. I'm getting into the safe zone as far as my family and friends go. A December Due Date forum showed a lot of births this past weekend. Very exciting...

December 2, 2002:
Thirty-Seven Weeks, Four Days

I've got a nasty cold. I came home from work 2 hours early for a nap. It was nice, but I'm not feeling much better.

December 3, 2002:
Thirty-Seven Weeks, Five Days

I stayed home from work coughing up a lung. My doctor will see me tomorrow to see if it's strep since I am not currently running a fever. I can't sleep and I'm having trouble breathing. Makes pregnancy look nice...

April arrived safe and sound from Florida. Now if I could only enjoy her company! I think she's impressed with my belly. Though it hurts like heck to cough and sneeze. All I can say is thank goodness for Kegels!
