Thirty-One Weeks

Kevin had surgery today. I have to admit I used my belly to barge around. Rather than sit in one waiting room, go to the back, go back to the waiting room, etc. I said, "I'm nearly 8 months pregnant with twins, please just let me walk back with him so that I only have to make one trip..." Sure enough they did. And they got me a chair and some ice water. Gotta love it! I have to remember that soon my pregnant princess status will turn to the postpartum cinderella.

The surgery went well, but he will be out of commission for a bit. I'm just glad they didn't do it later. The other day they offered him was Halloween. But he knew that I couldn't walk the kids around.

Thirty-One Weeks, One Day

Technically it's our anniversary today. But since Kevin had his surgery last night we have no plans. We did stop and have lunch out together without the kids. We also got two car seats and a glider! I have a feeling I'll be living in that glider for the next few months...

Thirty-One Weeks, Three Days

I stayed in the house all day. I directed Hilary to help with cleaning and she did a great job. She's been trying to earn extra money for a big field trip with school. After taking her and Isaac to look at schools yesterday, I'm worn out! It was raining and the kids were cooped up. Poor Kevin isn't getting much rest this weekend.

Thirty-One Weeks, Four Days

This was my due date with the past two babies! (Obviously not anyone's birthday!) I had another ultrasound today. Babies are growing well and staying similar in size. Baby A is still vertex and B is still breech. Both weigh about 4 lbs. Maybe I am on my way to having the 9 lb. twins Kevin wanted.

I have been having more contractions. Some are even fairly close together. I was really surprised to hear that my cervix was so long (3.5 cms). It's a very odd sensation having everyone tell you that you'll go early or preterm. ANd yet having had the experience of always going after my due date, it's hard to even imagine. So I feel like I can go any minute and yet I have a long way to go. Does that make any sense? Either way I'm totally not ready for the babies or their birth!

Thirty-One Weeks, Five Days

The perinatologist confirms my anemia. I really need to work on that. The insomnia is by far the worst of it. Though I'm starting to get comments about how big I am and am I still pregnant? Gotta love that one...

I did start a baby pool. If you would like to play, go to expectnet.com. The game is entitled Twice_the_Weiss.
