Twenty Nine Weeks

It's so hard to get back into a routine when you've been gone. My energy is so low and I feel like I'm floating through everything I do.

We did finish our childbirth classes tonight. I still wish we would have put more into it. We did get a lot out of it and since it was the end of classes, Kevin and I realized we need to get cracking! LOL

Twenty Nine Weeks, One Day

The leaves are changing. I know that sounds like a given, seeing that it's fall and everything. When I think back to when I was due with both Isaac and Lilah (both due 10/21), I remember asking Kevin when he'd start feeling like the birth was imminent. He always said, he started feeling that way when the leaves change. Granted we have a bit to go this time around, but it's still that big reminder that the babies aren't that far off!

Twenty Nine Weeks, Two Days

Nothing! That's what I did today. I can't even remember what nothing I did. I did go to gym class with Hilary and Lilah. We did have lunch with my sister and her daughter. And we bought stuff to make a spider costume for Benjamin's Halloween. That's about it. I need more days of doing nothing. LOL

Twenty Nine Weeks, Four Days

My CNM appointment went well as far as my health and the health of the babies. I do admit to being frustrated with the entire healthcare system. I've got to have my glucose testing done at a different time due to miscommunication. I'm not really upset by that, but I upset at how the staff reacted. I was told that they feel I don't like them. I really am polite. I try not to say anything or ask anything of them, but still... Part of me wants to say, "Grow up!"

They are still saying I can give birth vaginally in the LDR at the hospital. If baby B is breech they will do an external version after baby A is born. If baby stays breech I get to go to the OR. I'm generally fine with that. But the CNM says they (the docs) aren't willing to budge on the epidural issue. While I can always refuse, that makes me look like a troublesome patient. Again, part of me doesn't care.

I'm looking into other alternatives for medical care. I need to make some decisions soon.

Twenty Nine Weeks, Five Days

Babies are looking good via ultrasound. Though neither of them moved at all during the ultrasound. That was really weird. Baby A is still vertex and weighs about 2 lbs 13 oz. Baby B is breech and weighs in at exactly 3 lbs. They still measure on target for my due date. So they looked great! My cervix is 3.5 cms long, so looks like I may make it to term after all!

Kim and her daughter came over, I cooked delivery pizza. LOL The younger girls played a bit. That really means they took turns taking toys out of each others hands. But they did hug each other, all while we didn't have the camera. Kim and I were so tired we just sat there and stared at each other and dinner. I love having friends you can do that with!

Kevin came home from class, and our four kids were in the basement playing nicely. (Notice I didn't say quietly!) We decided to try to do some relaxation while we had a free moment. Kevin turns down the lights and puts on some nice music. I laid down and he started massaging my back. Not two minutes later, "Mom, Isaac threw up downstairs!" I continued to lay there while Kevin checked everything out, cleaned Isaac up and got him to bed. Back to relaxation. "Mom, I fell down!" Kevin got up again to take Benjamin to wash off and get him in bed.

While we could have had more interruptions, Hilary actually got Lilah to fall asleep downstairs and she did her homework while we finished up some relaxation and just talking about the birth and what we needed to do to get ready. Though it was sort of comical.

In five weeks they won't stop labor. That's feeling really soon. I'm doing okay other than being tired and having trouble breathing. I am more sore at night. Sometimes I have trouble walking and getting up from chairs, but I'm surviving.
